CharEm

CharEm (Shar-Em) is an emerging sister pop, folk duo based in Melbourne, Consisting of Emilee Zeegers and Charlotte Zeegers. They are independent singer-songwriters and have been performing together since 2017.

Their use of tight harmonies, and catchy riffs create their indie, folk, pop sound whilst also incorporating elements of rock and punk rock which gives the girls a broad appeal to many demographics. Emilee and Charlotte's distinctive style draws inspiration from a broad musical palette encompassing everything from Australian Rock to Modern Pop and Ballads and are inspired by artists like Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Dido, 5 Seconds of Summer, Hunters and Collectors, and Icehouse. Emilee and Charlotte draw inspiration from personal and observed experiences, encountered in their past.

To date CharEm have released four singles, two singles along with their Debut EP ‘Be The Same’ and two singles off their most recent Ep ‘Dream Of Another Day’. Their debut single ‘City lights' gained traction across 30 countries, becoming quite popular on Spotify in France, and more recently in Finland with their song ‘Secret Mission’. Their first single off their upcoming EP ‘Throwing Rocks’ has gained traction in over 60 countries with over 4,600 streams to date. Their second single off ‘Dream of Another Day’, ‘Tonight’ has achieved over 1,500 streams in the first two months of it being available on streaming platforms.

Both Emilee and Charlotte have also graduated a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance at JMC Academy in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
