CharEm is an emerging Sister Duo band based in Melbourne Australia, consisting of Emilee Zeegers and Charlotte Zeegers.
They are independent singer-songwriters and have been performing together since 2017. Their use of tight harmonies, and catchy riffs create their indie, folk, pop sound whilst also incorporating elements of rock and punk rock. Emilee and Charlotte's distinctive style draws inspiration from a broad musical palette encompassing everything from Australian Rock to Modern Pop and Ballads and are inspired by artists like Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Dido, 5 Seconds of Summer, Hunters and Collectors, and Icehouse. Emilee and Charlotte draw inspiration from personal and observed experiences, encountered in their past.
To date CharEm have released two Ep’s along with two singles for each EP. Their debut single ‘City lights gained traction across 30 countries, becoming quite popular on Spotify in France. The first Single off their second EP, Dream Of Another Day, ‘Throwing Rocks’ has gained traction in over 60 countries with over 5,600 streams to date. Their second single off ‘Dream of Another Day’, ‘Tonight’ has achieved over 2,600 streams since its release in April 2024. CharEm is set to release a new single on the 6th of March called ‘Life of the Party’.
Emilee and Charlotte grew up in a small regional town North-West of Melbourne where they spent their childhood surrounded by the creative arts. Immersed by art, music, and dancing, they began learning guitar in their early teens. Throughout their teenage years they performed together at school events. After a few years playing covers together they decided to form their band CharEm in 2019 and began to write songs together. After finishing high school both Emilee and Charlotte went on to study a Bachelor of Music Performance at JMC Academy where they both graduated with Emilee in 2023 and Charlotte in 2024.
